Los Angeles, you’re in luck for the tastiest Italian dinner on the westside. There’s no coincidence Felix means and “happy” in Latin, because that’s exactly how you’ll feel when leaving, and full! Inspired by Italian traditions, Felix Trattoria delivers nothing but authentic Italian ingredients. Reserve your spot at least 4 weeks in advance, that’s the drill. Your experience will be worth the wait.
Now, the fun part — menu talk. When peeping the menu you’ll notice the pastas are sectioned and prepared into fours, representing the Italian regions: north, central, south and islands. Chef Evan Funke studied in the north so best believe the tagliatelle tastes like they rolled it fresh in the back. #Goals is making a reservation here every four weeks to try everything on the menu, twice.
So far (and this list will grow) the winners include…
- SFINCIONE, under PANE better known as bread. Pro-tip: you need to forever start with this doughnut-like focaccia. It’s topped with rosemary, sea salt, and olive oil. Divine.
- DIAVOLA aka the devil. In this pizza crust, we trust. Take some mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce, and spicy italian salami, and never look back.
- TAGLIATELLE is one of their most popular pastas. The ragù bolognese tastes straight from Italy, topped with parmigiano reggiano that’s been aged for 48 months.
- POLPETTE DELLA MAESTRA ALESSANDRA or for short, pork meatballs. Your taste buds are in for a treat with the mortadella, prosciutto, and pork shoulder blend. One order comes with three meatballs served on an italian salsa verde that tastes much like pesto, topped with a generous amount of parmigiano reggiano.
- TIRAMISU because what’s a four course meal without dessert? Tasty and one of the best I’ve ever had.
Come hungry, treat yourself, leave happy! To really enhance your visit, pop open a bottle of red wine with your friends, family or romantic date. This Venice Beach experience will leave you drooling until your next visit.
